Fear_lab is a project by Xander de Boer, Steven Heather & Siegmar Zacharias Part of “Telling Time”. They explore in this live-mix of image, sound and text the mechanisms of fear and the potentialities of the audience’s imagination.

Trees and houses from train set models as well as cardboard sets create the backdrop for the audience’s fantasy. Foley becomes the sound-scape of the audiences projection, transmitted for everybody individually via head-phones. And text put together from political speeches, and films lets the imagination run wild in search for a story. Everything is live, you have a choice. Watch the fiction or watch how it’s been made! Let’s play the game “virtual reality in the dark”. Don’t worry you are not alone.

We are a laboratory. We plant danger through make-belief. How much are you willing to see with your eyes closed? How far can you go to the point of no return?

Inception: 20.20h!

Co-Production: Gasthuis, Amsterdam, with the kind support of the Federal Cultural Foundation

The Interactive Light Wall installation reacts to its surroundings. Waves of light and abstract color patterns are moving along with the passing audience. The interaction, size and futuristic design form a pleasant surprise. The Interactive Light Wall is designed by Magdatt and is realized in association with BeamSystems.

Neuringers audiovisual work examines various territorial designations within the fragile and deteriorating international order in a live choreography of text, documentary and abstract imagery, and lo-/hi-fi electronic music.

Résistance Électronique is a VJ collective formed in 2004. They like combining selfmade footage of characters with synthesized colour patterns and abstract forms. The guys perform live using controllers, cameras and audience participation.

Ard Bit is the brainchild of Ard Janssen, and is the moniker for his vision of abstract electronic music. Downtempo beats, atmospheric soundscapes, and a amount of melancholy, moulded in a fresh form, is characteristic for his music. In 1999 he enrolled in the Royal Conservatory of The Hague where he studied electronic composition at the institute of Sonology. He received his degree in June 2003.

Tundra’s sound is best described as a blend of deephouse, melodic techno, and tough glitchy electro. He also likes a bit of cinematic drama in his productions, and with his experience on sounddesign, you won’t find any corny samples or obvious drumcomputers. With a 1000 influences, and a musical taste as wide as the horizon, his sound keeps evolving everyday, resulting in an official release on Manual Music, and hopefully a lot more after that. Tundra is studying Sound Design, on the Utrecht School of Music & Technology where he is still going strong in the third year.

HOBBYDELUXE is a spanking new DDVJ team featuring dj Markiss (FCK), dj Toni Little (quick & brite) and vj Mike.TV (quick & brite). Markiss and Toni spin their dark and dirty records while Mike.TV fights off a dynamic visual mediawar. Expect more than static deejaying, because aside from all this mayhem, the trio occasionally gets tempted to play live acid improvisations.

DJ Steijn / although a music lover since his birth, Steijn is relatively new to the music scene. Steijn started playing records a couple of years ago. He doesn't know one style he plays electronic music in its broadest form. From minimal to maximal he fits it all in one set. As long as it is warm, melodic and soulful.
